My name is Katrina Voliņeca, and I am the founder and owner of the brand.
MAÈRA was born from a very personal experience — and a problem I unexpectedly faced myself.
How was MAÈRA Eyewear created?
After getting my eyesight checked, I was prescribed glasses for the first time.
What I thought would be a simple process quickly turned into frustration.
I visited countless optical stores, tried on dozens of frames, yet nothing truly suited my face shape or felt like me. Everything seemed designed around one standard idea of beauty, rather than the individuality of real people.
After many unsuccessful fittings, the idea for MAÈRA Eyewear was born.
I wanted to create a brand where people could finally find frames that complement their unique features instead of trying to fit into unrealistic standards.
What is the concept behind MAÈRA Eyewear?
I truly believe there are no people who “don’t suit glasses.”
There are only glasses that were never designed with different face shapes and individuality in mind.
